The cost of living in Hyderabad is comparatively less than other metropolitan cities in India. All these qualities make Hyderabad one of the coolest places in India to live in.

Accommodation, food, transport, are few of the necessities you have to consider when you plan to move to a new city. 1. Accommodation

When moving into a new city, accommodation is your biggest expense. Finding out the right place to stay which suits your budget without compromising on your lifestyle is a must. Finding homes can be a tedious affair, but with a bit of research, you can find a good place to live and free yourself from the worries. A simple tip to find the right budget for your stay is to calculate 1/3rd of your total salary.

Be it any big city, rents for accommodation depends on the area you choose to live in. If you’re looking for a decent PG accommodation in areas like Himayathnagar, Uppal, LB Nagar, Ameerpet, you’ll find good options ranging from Rs.3,500 to Rs.7,000. A 1 BHK flat in these areas will cost you around Rs.5,000-Rs.8,000 and a 2BHK flat will come up to Rs.7,500-Rs.15,000.

If you check in the upscale areas like Jubilee Hills, Madhapur, you’ll be able to rent a 1 BHK for Rs.14000-Rs.23000, while a 2BHk flat will cost you around Rs.30000-Rs.35000.

It is always a safer option to choose your stay near to your workplace. This saves you a lot of moolah and time spent on your daily commute. Hyderabad being a metropolitan city caters to all types of transport options. MMTS, the local train rail service which turns out to be the cheapest option to travel. But be informed that it gets very crowded in peak hours.

Buses are the most frequent and next cheapest way of travel in Hyderabad. RTC buses have connectivity all over Hyderabad and you can buy a ticket for as low as Rs.7.

Hyderabad also boasts of a Metro train service, although the connectivity isn’t that good currently. Other regular cabs and auto services are in abundance in Hyderabad.

Hiring a cook is another way to go about it. Cook/Maid usually charge around Rs.1,000-Rs. 2,500 depending upon how many meals they are cooking.

Otherwise, Hyderabad has a lot of variety of restaurants and home delivery options. No matter what time it is, food is never a concern in Hyderabad. Total spending if you cook for yourself would come around Rs.3,000 on an average and if you like to order food regularly then it might go up to Rs.5,000 – Rs.6,000.

4. Groceries/ Household Stuff

All the regular household stuff is easily available in Hyderabad. Every locality has many Grocery/Kirana shops in close vicinity. There are many home delivery startups like Big basket, Grofers who can deliver everything you need at your doorstep. The average monthly expenditure on groceries and household stuff would come around Rs. 5,000.

5. Utilities

A part of expenses will go in utilities like electricity bill, gas connection, phone bill, TV, Internet, etc. If you’re living in a society, these bills can go up a bit. Usually, these charges would come in the range of Rs.1,500-Rs.3,500 depending on your locality and type of accommodation.

Hyderabad caters to all needs of the shopaholics in us. It has a lot of options if you looking for budget shopping for good quality stuff. Places like Begum Bazaar, Abids Street, Koti market, and many more other places provide you with numerous options in clothes, footwear, perfumes, toiletries, etc. These off-beat places in Hyderabad for shopping are a must-visit, you get good quality stuff at decent prices. Your shopping budget for a month should be sorted in Rs.5,000. Hyderabad has many high-scale malls and showrooms too for those who prefer to buy and wear branded stuff.

7. Entertainment

Entertainment plays a very important role in everyone’s life. After a hard day of work, everyone needs time to unwind and relax. Hyderabad offers a lot of options in this regard. A sip of the special Irani chai at midnight can drain all your tiredness of the day. Hussain Sagar lake is a favorite among the locals. A drive around the necklace road can be very peaceful at night.

This goes up higher as we move towards international schools to about Rs.80,000-Rs 1 Lakh. The pre-schools or kindergarten schools in Hyderabad have a fee range of Rs. 15,000 to Rs. 60,000 depending on the area and the facilities provided.
